On the 3rd of May 2012, Kandeh Yumkella, Director-General of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) was presented with the Global Leadership Award for his work addressing various global issues, including sustainable energy, poverty reduction, climate change and the advancement of the Millennium Development Goals.
